Glooorious

So Martha Munizzi was a guest worship leader at the church I visited in Brooklyn (Christian Cultural Center) last weekend, and she performed this song that I heard for the first time, and I haven’t been able to stop listening to it since! Just can’t help but want to dance & groove along with this piece that I think is amazing both musically and lyrically (Lyrics below the video) – The music essentially makes you want to do what the lyrics are saying! 🙂 That background harmony that comes in around 2:52 is especially killer to me…Enjoy!!

Glorious Lyrics

[Verse:]
When you come into His presence,
lifting up the name of Jesus
and you hear the music playin’
and you see the people praising;
just forget about your worries,
let your troubles fall behind you,
don’t you wait another minute,
just get up and on your feet and…

[Chorus 1:]
Get to dancing, singing, jumping, leaping,
get to shouting, make it loud, and make it glorious.
Start rejoicing, praising, lifting, raising,
get to shouting, make it loud,
and make His praise glorious, glorious.

[Verse]

[Chorus 2:]
Get to dancing, singing, jumping, leaping,
get to shouting, make it loud, and make it glorious.
Start rejoicing, praising, lifting, raising,
get to shouting, make it loud,
and make His praise…

Get to dancing, singing, jumping, leaping,
get to shouting, make it loud, and make it glorious.
Start rejoicing, praising, lifting, raising,
get to shouting, make it loud,
and make His praise glorious, glorious.

[Vamp:]
I was created to make Your praise glorious.
I was created to make Your praise glorious, glorious,
Yes, I was, yes, I was.

[Ending:]
I was created to make Your praise glorious.

Made in NC

The Queen City represented itself very well to the country during the 2012 DNC by showcasing North Carolina natives James Taylor, Anthony Hamilton, Simplified, and many others at various points during the week, so in honor of seeing Obama come to my hometown of Charlotte, NC, I had to continue to represent for our music as well!

Of course I gotta start by throwing it back to this staple…& then you’ll hear below some of my favorite artists that were made in North Carolina…

Thanks for bearing with my little burst of hometown pride! 🙂

Give Obama One More Chance?

Watch President Obama’s full acceptance speech below, & pay special attention to 33:10…

Now take a listen to this classic, & pay special attention to 3:39…

Seems like this song’s been getting some play lately…

Other favorite quote from Obama’s speech: “I’ve been driven to my knees many times by the overwhelming conviction that I had no place else to go.” – Powerful.

So what’s it gonna be, him or Romney? Should we give Obama one more chance?

Now I need to go watch one of the countless reruns of the VMAs since I was too busy watching my President accept his nomination LIVE 😉

Michael Jackson – Immortal

Well, I honestly don’t know what to say. I went to see the Michael Jackson Immortal World Tour show by Cirque du Soleil this past Friday. I don’t know what to say. I’m depressed that it’s over. Words can’t describe how AMAZING & FANTASTIC it was. It was such a pleasure to witness such pure talent, from the dancers & gymnasts to the producers who provided the remixed versions of all the King of Pop’s songs. Show highlights for me included an amazing one-legged dancer who did unbelievable tricks on his crutches, a very impressive pole dance routine to “Dangerous,” and a beautiful aerial duet piece set to “I Just Can’t Stop Loving You.”

I honestly don’t want to speak any more about this show, because it’s just going to make me even more sad that I can’t experience it all over again. To give you a glimpse of how wonderful it was, here’s the official preview…

And my other favorite thing about the show was the AMAZING MUSIC. I already love MJ’s stuff, but I think the way they remixed his songs for this show was JUST GENIUS. Enough of my talking, hear it for yourself below & let me know if you agree…
